MV Nyerere departs from Bugolora on the north side of Ukerewe Island around 11 AM - or soon after. It is a pretty new ferry with a surprising high and up-to-date safety standard. The ferry lands after one hour + something at Bwisya on Ukara Island, which has a few basic, but nice and clean guesthouses. Few have electric power from a generator. The ferry returns just after sunrise the next day.
